You can get justice if you are being bullied at work

The act of bullying is often considered to be something that only school-age children engage in. However, it is, unfortunately, much more pervasive in all aspects of society, and it can be perpetrated by adults of any age. Bullying can very often take place in the office or working environment, and it can lead to many negative consequences for the victim, from poor work performance to mental health issues.

If you are being bullied in an Oregon workplace, it is important that you take the time to ask yourself how this has affected all aspects of your life. It is quite likely that the bullying that you have experienced at work has become a constant source of worry and anxiety at home.

You should not have to tolerate any form of bullying behavior by anyone in the workplace, regardless of whether it is your manager or a coworker. There are laws in place that make it possible for victims of workplace bullying to take action and get justice. You should consider taking the following actions if you want to put a stop to your bully's behavior.

Document the actions of the bully

As soon as you start to experience inappropriate behavior, you should begin noting down information about the incidents. You should describe the time, place and what was done or said. You should also keep any evidence of bullying behavior that was executed through mail or text message.

Register a complaint with management and HR

It's important to take action as soon as possible to register a complaint of bullying or harassment. In doing so, you will be protected from retaliation. This can be especially useful if the person who is bullying you is your manager.

Consider legal action

If you believe that your workplace did not do enough to stop bullying from taking place, or if you experienced retaliation as a result of making a complaint about bullying, you may want to consider taking legal action.

It's important that you understand how the law protects you from bullying and harassment in the workplace. Make sure that you have conducted thorough research before taking action to get justice after suffering due to bullying.
